Becoming a member of the Texas A&M University Sounding Rocketry Team is a huge commitment, but it can be one of the greatest experiences of a student's undergraduate career. Here are some things we look for in a candidate:

Enthusiasm - Being excited about what you are doing makes challenging problems and long nights manageable. It also promotes self-learning which is a necessity in our environment.
Self-motivation - A member is expected to be able to operate with minimal oversight from the management core. Each member will be working on vital aspects of the system and if even ONE individual fails, we ALL fail. Time management - As a student-run team, we all have a lot of commitments in addition to SRT. It is important that a member can maintain the workload of SRT, as well as excel in their coursework. This is extremely difficult and should be considered heavily before applying. Technical Skill - While there is nothing a motivated member cannot learn, familiarity with the advanced topics we regularly deal with is a valuable asset to the team. |
