Engine overview

Gluon was designed by SRT-12 for the Hadron program. Unlike the team’s earlier fixed-flow hybrid engines, it was designed around oxidizer regulation with a needle valve so the propulsion system could throttle as part of Hadron’s first-generation guidance and control architecture. The chamber design also incorporated additional burn-through protection for the longer-duration operating concept.
