Engine overview

Vulcan was designed by SRT-7 as a 30,000-foot-capable evolution of Nova and later supported the Lazarus program. The design increased tank and chamber size, adopted solid ignition, used a commercial pneumatic ball-valve actuation system, and added manual venting. Fuel-grain additive development was pursued to raise total impulse and thrust for the IREC mission.
