What the team does
Structures owns the physical load path of the vehicle. Members design and maintain airframe CAD, analyze structural components, manufacture composites and metallic hardware, and develop the tooling and processes needed to build repeatable flight hardware.
Work commonly includes finite element analysis, laminate and joint design, machining, welding, additive manufacturing, composite layups, drawing release, tolerancing, and structural testing. Designs have to survive both predicted flight loads and the practical realities of assembly, integration, and field use.
