Program overview

Phoenix is the second vehicle built by SRT. Designed and built across two 15-week semesters, the vehicle was initially developed for hybrid propulsion before being adapted to fly on lower-thrust solid motors; it ultimately completed two test flights in its solid configuration.

The vehicle featured a transparent polycarbonate electronics bay, a custom-wound carbon-fiber airframe, aluminum bulkheads, and a 3D-printed ULTEM 9085 tailcone donated by Stratasys.
