Program overview

Daedalus is the third vehicle built by SRT. Designed and built across two 15-week semesters, the program represented roughly 15,000 member-hours and about $10,000 in funding, with the intent that the vehicle serve as a reusable team platform for several subsequent years.

Its construction used an all-composite airframe joined by aluminum bulkheads. From the beginning, Daedalus was designed to support both high-thrust solid motors and SRT’s custom hybrid propulsion systems, including the NP-915 Icarus II.
